Primary Objective: To assist production operations in the design, build, test, documentation and implementation of new products into production. Support current products with technical oversight and expertise and provide input to increase line quality and efficiency.

Major Areas of Accountability:


1.Supports Production Activities
*Aids with the determination of production tools to be used along with assembly specifications.
*Designs and builds tooling and fixtures for product assembly
*Researches current and proposed tooling/fixtures to improve production efficiencies
*Assist with activities to support the manufacturing engineer and facilities groups.
*Interfaces with suppliers to facilitate purchase or rework activities.
*Assists with part feature designs to aid with production assembly and testing capabilities
*Produces manufacturing instructions including appropriate quality checkpoints
*Provides technical support/troubleshooting for product/production related issues
*Aids with product/production changes to increase quality and reduce the product assembly cycle
*Provide production support for activities to improve reliability, obtain higher yields, cost control, process optimization, etc.

2.Tester Build and Support
*Helps determine the scope of product testing coverage to insure full product quality testing to meet marketing specifications
*Supports in the design and build of production testers including product retaining fixtures
*Produces or updates tester documentation
*Provides tester support for production

3.ECO Impact Evaluation
*Aid in the determination of the impact to production of ECO changes. Consideration of the following; bill of material part changes, in/out effectivity dates, MI changes, rework activities, purchasing implications and personnel training.
*Work with production to identify and make the necessary changes as required by the ECO
*Trains manufacturing personnel on changes to existing products.

4.Repair Evaluation Oversight
*Provides additional technical support in the identification of route cause failure analysis
*Analyzes in process and return failures to determine design and process changes to minimize or eliminate the recurrence of the issue.

5.Knows and applies the division's quality policy and procedures of ISO 9001 as it relates to the area of responsibility and the organization. Follows all standard operating procedures as prescribed and notifies appropriate personnel of any non-conformance.

6.Other duties as assigned.
