We currently have a great opportunity for you to join our internal audit team. You'll contribute to Sentry's success by conducting audits by applying auditing principles, analyzing data, systems and controls, and properly recording your work documents. This role will work closely with stakeholders from across the organization and you'll be proactive in recognizing potential issues and investigating the root cause, while recommending changes to add value and improve Sentry's operations. Based on candidate experience, this position could be filled at an Internal Auditor or Sr. Internal Auditor. Additionally, we have opportunities within our Internal Controls department.

What You'll Do

  • Conduct risk-based audits or internal control audits by analyzing and evaluating the adequacy and effectiveness of financial, operational and compliance related controls.
  • Supervise and lead others in the execution of audits including the development of audit programs and procedures to test control effectiveness.
  • Communicate with internal departments and outside sources to secure complete and accurate data.
  • Share results with the business area's leadership team; create reports to summarize observations and recommendations.
  • Document and analyze business processes and data flows to identify areas of risk, question unusual items, suggest solutions and report results.
  • Partner with external auditors to perform controls and substantive testing of financial data.

What it Takes

*

  • Bachelor's degree is required; focus on Economics, Accounting, Finance, or Actuarial Science is preferred.
  • At least two - five years of related experience based on level of role.
  • Previous experience as an auditor or accountant is ideal.
  • Knowledge of audit practices, including risk identification, control design and mitigation strategies across technical and business processes.
  • Interest in pursuing designations.
  • Ability to extract, transform and analyze data to gain insights, improve evaluation of process and controls and support audit conclusions.
  • Ability to think critically when analyzing and documenting business processes.
  • Ability to communicate professionally written and verbally.
