Senior Preconstruction Manager:

You'll manage several projects of varying size and complexity simultaneously. Your main area of focus is on negotiated projects although you may be assigned to hard bid projects. You are expected to attend networking events, take responsibility to get work and possess the ability to nurture client relationships. Your expertise, work ethic, attention to detail and versatility will form the foundation of every build.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Possesses a broad knowledge of building systems, components and construction methods.
  • Understands the "Big Picture" related to the successful completion of all projects.
  • Coordinates interaction with Project Management Department on applicable projects, providing oversight and support as required to insure a smooth project handoff to Project Management.
  • Organizes and leads Findorff preconstruction staff utilizing Findorff systems and resources.
  • Develops and successfully maintains Owner and A/E relationships.
  • Effectively demonstrates high levels of energy, drive, and enthusiasm.
  • Possesses initiative and commitment related to preconstruction to help achieve company success.
  • Promptly and successfully resolves personnel and/or project related conflict.
  • Applies experience at early stages of a project to identify and then mitigate potential risk.
  • Provides input on our strategic approach to all types of projects, regardless of delivery method.
  • Routinely achieves successful and timely project delivery.
  • Proactively contributes to the development and ongoing maintenance of a useful cost history.
  • Actively participates in ongoing process and project delivery improvement efforts.
  • Capable of successfully providing preconstruction services on multiple large projects simultaneously or a complex, single, large dollar value project.
  • Actively networks where and when appropriate for business development purposes.
  • Personally involved with giving back to the community.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent written, verbal, and nonverbal communication skills
  • Meticulous organizational skills

  • Strong mathematical aptitude
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and mediation skills

Education & Experience:

  • 6+ years in preconstruction/estimating
  • Experience quantifying and developing self-perform estimates.
  • A broad knowledge of preconstruction tools and processes, construction equipment, construction methods, and commonly used building materials.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Finance or related field (equivalent experience in lieu of degree will be considered).
